NYS Licensed Massage Therapist & 500-hour Yoga Teacher

Danielle took her first yoga class as a young teen in the 1990’s. She began to study the path of yoga, as a lifestyle, in order to find balance during these tumultuous years. She can hardly remember a time before yoga was part of her self-care rituals.

While attending college she became a certified level two Reiki practitioner in 2001. During her studies in this healing art Danielle was first introduced to the idea that one could pursue the complimentary healing arts as a career path.

In 2005 Danielle began working at a health club. She quickly advanced in this field from front desk receptionist to general manager. Meanwhile she was still a full-time student and later that year received her BA from Stony Brook University in Sociology and Women’s Studies. Shortly thereafter Danielle’s path was illuminated and she was called into service as a bodyworker and teacher. She enrolled at the New York College for Health Professions and began working toward another degree-this time in massage therapy.

Danielle received both her New York State Massage License and attained her first yoga teacher certification in 2008. She kept both passions on the back-burner, dabbling occasionally, while managing the health club. During this time, she also completed a personal training certification. In 2011 she transitioned toward working as a full-time massage therapist.

In 2013 Danielle first won the Dan’s Papers “Best of the Best” contest for Best Massage Therapist on the North Fork of Long Island. She received this honor again in 2014, 2015 and 2016. She was voted “Best Massage Therapist” on the South Fork in the Dan’s Papers contest in 2022/23.

A friend and mentor encouraged Danielle into taking the seat of the teacher in 2014. She taught her first yoga class that year and thousands of classes later she is still excited, humbled and inspired by each class she is blessed to lead.

In 2016 Danielle decided to deepen her yoga studies and enrolled with Beryl Bender Birch’s Institute of the Hard and the Soft. She graduated that year with a 200-hour certificate. The momentum of this new accomplishment and the profound personal growth gained from the experience propelled her forward, fulfilling her dream of becoming a sole-practitioner and establishing her own brand, Peaceful Scorpion Wellness. She opened her massage studio and continued teaching yoga in studios and gyms on the East End of Long Island.

Danielle debuted her popular ScorpionSCULPT program in 2017. This is a fusion class combining mobility work with resistance training. Danielle employs bodyweight movements as well as work with dumbbells and resistance bands to strengthen and mobilize the entire body.

In 2019 Danielle dedicated herself to spending more time in the seat of the student while continuing to maintain her busy massage practice and teaching schedule. She enrolled in her 300-hour certificate studying under Amy Ippoliti and the Vesselify School of Yoga. Danielle’s teaching has soared to a whole new level under Amy’s amazing tutelage. She completed the program in 2021 and is now a 500-hour certified teacher.

In 2022 she completed a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training: Relax and Renew Level 1 with Judith Hansen Lasater.

Danielle strongly believes in setting sankalpa, intention, in her healing arts. She works with sankalpa and mantra during every session. She hopes to continue her work-helping people feel more comfortable in their own skin for many years to come.

Dani continues her studies with her teacher Amy, and in 2023 she also began studying with Susan Bass, founder of the Sarasvati Institute. Late 2024 Dani will graduate from the Sarasvati Institute with a 300-hour certification, making her a Certified Ayurvedic Health Advisor.

Danielle’s personal mantra and the sankalpa she holds for every session is

“Feel better. Move better. Be better.”
